Hyderabad: The Congress high command finally decided to field former Union minister Renuka Chowdary from the Khammam Lok Sabha seat, after keeping up the suspense till the last minute.
With the TRS having announced former MP Nama Nageswara Rao as its Khammam candidate, both the leading nominees belong to the Kamma caste and are old rivals.

Meanwhile, the BJP high command announced another six Lok Sabha candidates in Telangana: Former MLA Soyam Babu Rao from Adilabad, S. Kumar (Peddapalli), B. Laxmareddy (Zaheerabad), Dr Bhagwanth Rao (Hyderabad), B. Janardhan Reddy (Chevella) and Vasudev Rao (Khammam).
