N Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh nominations have ‘husbands’, get trolled

Tirupati: The nomination papers submitted by the Telugu Desam national president N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh both had a similar glaring mistake, giving an opening to the Opposition to troll them viciously on social media.

In one of the annexures to Mr Naidu’s nomination papers, Kharjura Naidu is mentioned as his husband, instead of father. The same mistake appears in Mr Lokesh’s papers where it says Chandrababu Naidu is his husband.

The blooper left the party cadre red-faced after pictures of the affidavits went viral on social media on Saturday. Supporters of rival parties widely shared the pictures and trolled the TD mercilessly

It may be recalled that nomination papers on behalf of Mr Naidu for the Kuppam Assembly seat in Chittoor district were filed by his party representatives on Friday, while mr Lokesh filed his papers for Mangalari seat in Amaravati capital region the same day.

The glaring mistake was committed in the certified extract of the electoral roll, where a candidate is registered as a voter, which has to be annexed along with the nomination papers.
