Think tank K-DISC to be unveiled today
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the state’s official strategic think-tank and advisory body Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) here on March 24. K-DISC is a newly constituted council with twin mandates. One, it has been asked to work at the frontier areas in technology, infrastructure, finance, agriculture and healthcare, and translate them into workable strategies. Two, it has to nurture and foster an innovation ecosystem in the state.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister will also unveil the Young Innovators Programme (YIP). A technical session that will be held on the day will introduce the concept of Blockchain Technology, and how the technology that drives cryptocurrencies like bitcoins could be leveraged for good governance. Another technical session will discuss how Kerala could be positioned as a medical devices and technology hub. Former chief secretary K.M. Abraham is the chairman of K-DISC.
