Guntur: Live surgery training programme starts in Government General Hospital

The hospital is going set to get universal recognition through live surgeries.

GUNTUR: Department of orthopaedics GGH Guntur, Unnati Foundation and Sai Bhaskar Centre for Joint Replacement are conducting an International Masters Course from March 23 to 25 in Meril Academy in Vapi Gujarat. The hospital is going set to get universal recognition through live surgeries telecast to Vapi in which orthopaedic surgeons and specialists from 23 countries will participate.

Minister for civil supplies P. Pulla Rao started the surgery by lighting the lamp. He stated that GGH doctors are serving the public well and added that this live surgery will give name and fame to GGH globally. He also stated that the government is working for the development of GGH as a corporate hospital. He said that GGH should be proud to be training people using live surgery and has created a new record among government hospitals.

Famous knee transplant surgeon and live surgery course coordinator Dr B. Narendar Reddy said that Guntur is getting universal recognition due to knee replacement surgeries from 2015 and stated that he will continue knee surgeries in GGH to serve the public. Orthopaedic head of GGH Dr G. Vara Prasad said that GGH had recently conducted knee transplant surgeries with the aid of 20 implants donated by Dr Narendar Reddy.

Guntur East and West MLAs Md. Mustafa and M. Venugopala Reddy praised the efforts of GGH doctors and assured to work for the development of the oldest hospital. Dr Narendar Reddy, Dr P. Anil Babu, Dr M. Siva Reddy, Dr Sandhya and GGH superintendent Dr D.S. Raju Naidu participated in the surgery.
