N Chandrababu Naidu tells MPs not to meet NDA ministers

Y.S. Chowdary intimated request by Arun Jaitely.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has given clear instructions to his MPs, not to meet, at any cost, with any Union minister as it would send wrong signal to the people. Former Union minister Y.S. Chowdary intimated Mr Naidu about the request by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley to meet him in his chamber for clarifications on the Vizag railway zone, the Kadapa steel factory, and other issues. He had asked Mr Naidu for his opinion.

Mr Naidu directed the MPs to exercise caution and warned them not to fall into traps laid by the Union government. At this, finance minister Yanamala Ramakris-hnudu opined that if the MPs met with the Union ministers it would become a weapon in the hands of the opposition parties against the TD, to which Mr Naidu agreed.

While interacting in the teleconference on Friday, MPs brought to the notice of Mr Naidu, the comments of cine actor and Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samiti leader Sivaji, to which, he said that many would speak a lot things but they had to pursue with their goal. The Chief Minister alleged that there was a conspiracy against AP and that the Union government was trying to weaken the South Indian leadership. Mr Naidu fired back that while the Union government had released Rs 3,000 crore to the northern states, it was reducing the funds to be allotted to AP and Mr Naidu called upon everyone to fight this injustice.

The CM, while addressing the teleconference shared that he wasn’t angry with Mr Modi, the BJP, the NDA or the UPA but was expressing his agony over the injustice meted out to the state by the two national parties. Mr Naidu reiterated that the MPs had to be very cautious and were to get ready to face any situation.
Mr Naidu said the fight of the TD MPs had gone public with Thursday’s protests and the blocking of the national highways, and he directed them to intensify the stir to achieve their goal.

Mr Naidu said that if the TD got strengthened politically it would benefit the state and if the TD weakened, the state too would get weak. He reminded them that they had done a lot with the future of the state in mind. They had implemented many innovative welfare programmes and every year they had achieved 10.5 per cent growth rate, while TS had grown by 8.5 per cent. Mr Naidu reminded the BJP, the YSRC and the Jana Sena that they had come into politics to serve the public. Mr Naidu instructed his leaders to uphold the confidence of the people who had voted them in 2014.
