Hyderabad: A complaint was lodged against TRS Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumanth Rao and his associates for abusing and manhandling a person in Alwal on Sunday afternoon.
According to the complainant V. Praveen Goud, he was standing on the main road of Lothkunta near the bus stop beside Grill Restaurant at around 10 am on Sunday. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr Goud said, “For a few days some drainage work has been going on due to which drainage outflow was blocked and the drainage water was coming out which in turn caused stagnation and a foul smell.
“On Sunday morning when the contractor came to the spot I requested him to open the outflow of the drainage water. The contractor called the GHMC staff who assured that it would be cleared. Meanwhile, the MLA who was passing by suddenly stopped his car, came out and started abusing me, asking why I am stopping the work.” “I was about to explain, when he and his associates started abusing me and attacked me,” Mr Goud said.
The associates also told him not to approach the police. Confirming receipt of the complaint, inspector P. Yadagiri of the Alwal police said, “We have received the complaint but haven’t booked any case. We are verifying the incident and accordingly we will book a case.”
