Hyderabad: Officials investigating the case of the missing 40-year-old CRPF jawan from Jammu and Kashmir are reportedly awaiting his call data records (CDR) from telecom companies to proceed with the investigation.
Saldeep Kumar, a native of Swankha village of Samba district in Jammu and Kashmir, was travelling with 13 members of the 181 battalion CRPF of Badgam in Jammu and Kashmir via the Telangana Express.
“The call records would be furnished by Monday, after which we would know his whereabouts,” a Government Railway Police official said.
The complaint from CRPF assistant sub-inspector Arjun Dubey stated that Kumar was in touch with his colleagues over the phone till Jhansi, as the jawans were travelling in different coaches.
The battalion members realised that Kumar was missing only after they reached Secunderabad railway station on February 20 at about 8.30 pm.
Secunderabad GRP superintendent of police G. Ashok Kumar said that the team of 14 had boarded the Telangana Express at Delhi in different compartments on Tuesday.
“They reached Secunderabad on Wednesday night and noticed that Saldeep was missing. The team immediately started searching for him at all possible places, but in vain,” said the official.
“The team then went on to report for duty to their CRPF camp here and on Friday lodged a missing complaint with the Railway Police,” the official added.
