Hyderabad: Grasmicobe centre at TSIIC by August

It would be providing employment to 100 people and produce probiotics, bacteria which provides health benefits when consumed.

Hyderabad: Startup Grasmicobe, which was into probiotics and was incubated at the IKP Knowledge Park in Genome Valley, would be setting up its centre at the land allotted by TSIIC in Karkapatla by August.

It would be providing employment to 100 people and produce probiotics, bacteria which provides health benefits when consumed. “We want to inject the probiotic into food like idly or dosa batter instead of direct consumption. We will be working with companies initially and eventually will expand to the dairy segment because the curd which is now available doesn’t contain the required of bacteria,” said an official.

About 27 startups working in the Life Sciences segment, including T-Hub incubated startup’s Leanspoon and IIIT-Hyderabad-incubated startup Imaginate showcased their products at the BioAsia conclave.

Another wellness startup Body N spice said, “It wants to collaborate with corporates to address the chronic problems such as gas an indigestion, sinus, dry and hard stools with simple and highly effective techniques or spices available at home.” Apart from startups, several incubators, including IKP Knowledge Park, IIT Hyderabad, Bioincubator of IIT Kanpur, BIRAC-funded bio incubator by the department of biotechnology set up stalls showcasing the number of startups being incubated with them.

The 15th edition of the Bio Asia will conclude on Saturday. It was being organised with the theme — ‘Opportunities in times of change: right time, right now’.
Organisations from South Africa, Malaysia and South Korea show cased their work in the life sciences sector at the exhibition area.

Gujarat and Assam were partner states along with GKS Lekapkshi BT Park of Andhra Pradesh which also their parks at the conclave.
