Hyderabad: A 24-year-old techie who allegedly harassed a woman techie in the name of love was arrested by KPHB police on Thursday. Police said G. Nagaraju proposed to the victim six months ago and had been stalking her since then.
G. Nagaraju, who hails from West Godavari district, was working in a software firm in Kondapur and staying at KPHB. The victim, who also belongs to West Godavari district, was working for a software firm in Madhapur and was staying at a hostel in Kukatpally. Nagaraju’s cousin, who is also a software firm employee, was staying in the same hostel along with the victim.
Six months ago when he came to visit his cousin at the hostel he saw the victim and later proposed to her. But the victim rejected his proposal. Since then he had been stalking her. He went to her office and threatened to commit suicide if she did not accept her proposal.
Troubled by this, she filed a complaint with the police. Police registered a case of stalking (354-D and arrested him. He was later remanded to custody.
