VIJAYAWADA: Coronavirus infections showed a sudden increase on Sunday with the registration of 14,440 new cases, compared to 12,926 infections on Saturday.
“AP tested 46,650 samples in the past 24 hours in which 14,440 were found infected from Covid19 and there were four more deaths related to the pandemic in the state. One each death was reported from East Godavari, Guntur, Prakasam and Visakhapatnam districts.
There were no Covid-related deaths in the rest of the nine districts in today’s officials chart.
AP has tested a total of 3,21,47 ,031 blood samples to date and 3969 corona patients recovered in the past 24 hours. The cumulative Covid positive cases were 21,80,634 in which 20,82,482 were recoveries and 83610 were active cases, the official release said.
The single-day highest number of new Covid infections of 2258 was reported from Visakhapatnam district and the single-day least number of 304 in Krishna district.
The single-day highest of 2,258 new infections was registered in Visakhapatnam district followed by 1,534 in Anantapur district, 1,458 in Guntur,1399 in Prakasam, 1,238 in Kurnool, 1,198 in Chittoor, 1,103 in Kurnool, 1,012 in East Godavari, 921 in Srikakulam, 788 in Kadapa, 614 in Vizianagaram, 613 in West Godavari and 304 in Krishna district.
East Godavari district was on top in AP in cumulative corona cases with a total of 3,01,755 infections, Chittoor at the second place with 2,66,149 cases and West Godavari in the third place with 1,83,361 cases.
