Hyderabad: Building got no trade licence, occupancy papers
Hyderabad: The Khan Lateef Khan building, reportedly, does not have a trade licence and occupancy certificate and sources said it did not have permit to build more than four floors. Civic officials were unaware if it had building permission.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Khairatabad, zonal commissioner Mr Musharraf Faruqui said he instructed officials to seize the fifth, sixth and seventh floors that were damaged in the fire. He said they would be opened after checking structural stability.
Sources said the building, constructed in 1995, has permission to construct only four floors.
Three floors, including the fifth floor where the fire originated, were unauthorised and illegally constructed. Mr Faruqui said he would verify the building’s details with the town planning department and initiate action if found unauthorised. He also said it has come to their notice that the building does not possess trade licence and occupancy certificate. The civic body has served notices to Khan Lateef Khan Estate management to submit the building’s permission
