Congress inciting Anti CAA protests: BJP

The BJP leader said there was no provision in CAA that sought to snatch away citizenship of any Indian.

Bhopal: BJP working president J.P. Nadda on Sunday accused Congress of ‘misguiding and inciting’ a particular community to stage protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) as a part its ‘vote-bank politics’.

Addressing a thanksgiving meet organised by refugees who migrated from Pakistan, Nadda alleged that Congress was backing the ongoing protests to achieve narrow political gains, overlooking the interests of the country.

“The Congress has decided to misguide a particular community against CAA and instigate them to hit the streets as part of vote-bank consolidation. Hence, BJP has also decided to go to the people to spread awareness about the benefits of CAA”, Nadda said.

The BJP leader said there was no provision in CAA that sought to snatch away citizenship of any Indian. It sought to provide citizenship to religious minorities of three neighbouring countries.
