PIL against office space for TD

The petitioner alleged that the plot has a value of Rs 10 crore in the open market.

Hyderabad: Mr Ch. Ravi Kumar, a professor at a private management college has filed a PIL at the Hyderabad High Court, challenging the proposal to allot a plot of prime government land to construct an office for the Telugu Desam at Amuda-lavalasa in Srikakulam district.

The mandal revenue authorities had decided to allot the 30 cents of land located within the compound premises of the deputy executive engineer's office , Panchayat Raj department, in the town on lease for up to 99 years according to the GO No. 575 issued on December 8.

The petitioner alleged that the plot has a value of Rs 10 crore in the open market and raised objection on the grounds that it was a public premises and that there were abundant unused government land available.

He alleged that Tahasildhar and the ruling party had a nexus, because of which the officer forwarded an application submitted by a TD LA for allotting the land for approval of the district collector within a span of two months.
