Hyderabad: Extra buses, trains to clear weekend rush

Extra buses are being run to Karimnagar, Mancherial, Adilabad and other districts.

Hyderabad: With the long weekend ahead, techies and other employees queued up at bus stands and railway stations to go home.

Expecting the rise in numbers, the RTC has added around 200 extra buses to the existing services to various destinations to the districts and outside the state as well, The railways has also arranged special trains in advance for Christmas in order to clear the extra rush.

Extra buses are being run to Karimnagar, Mancherial, Adilabad and other districts. There were also special services run by RTC and private travel companies to Bengaluru, Chennai and other cities.

There was also increased rush in the bus and train terminals on Friday too as the IT industry has a five-day week and holidays started on Friday evening.

There was also a rush of people coming into the city. People working in the other metropolis like Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai reached their native city. There were tourists as well, coming to the city to take advantage of the pleasant weather and visit historic sites. Private bus companies hiked their ticket faces by more than 50 per cent on certain routes.
