Bengaluru: Upset over alleged dowry harassment, a 32-year old woman hanged herself at her house in Torenagasandra near Nelamangala on Saturday.
The deceased, Chaitra, was the wife of Jagadish, a private company employee, and they were married for the last four years.
Chaitra was alone at home when she committed suicide early in the morning. Jagadish, who returned home from his night shift, found her hanging in the bedroom and alerted the police. Chaitra's parents alleged that Jagadish and his mother Gowramma were harassing her for more dowry and she had complained to her parents about it during phone calls. The police registered a dowry harassment case against Jagadish's family and are interrogating them. Chaita has not left a suicide note.
