Chennai: ICF installs LED lights to save electricity
Chennai: The Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur became the first organisation in Indian Railways to switch over to 100 per cent lights in its factory premises. According to an ICF official, the Indian Railways has started progressing towards energy conservations. “The ICF took the lead among all the zonal railways and production units in conserving energy by installing LED lights in its premises,” the official added.
The process of installing LED lights replacing conventional lighting completed on December 19 and the premises became first energy conserving organisation among railway organisation, officially, a press release said. “The LED lights will increase the illumination and reduce carbon emission. The ICF also will save Rs 82.78 lakh per annum on electricity bills,” the official added.
