Bengaluru: Pedestrian, motorist killed in accidents

Two people, including a 55-year-old pedestrian, died in two different accidents in the city.

BENGALURU: Two people, including a 55-year-old pedestrian, died in two different accidents in the city.

In the first incident an unidentified vehicle ran over a pedestrian near Featherlite on Mysuru road in Byatarayanapura police station limits. The victim, identified as Lingaiah, a native of Channapatna taluk, died on the spot.

Lingaiah was crossing the road at around 3 am when he got knocked down.
According to police, Lingaiah had come to the city from Channapatna to meet his daughter, who lives in Deepanjali Nagar.

The police have registered a complaint and are examining the CCTV footage from cameras installed near the accident spot.

In another incident, a 20-year-old girl died on the spot when a truck hit her scooter from behind in Vijayanagar police station limits on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Sushmita, a resident of Kamakshipalya.

Police said the incident took place around 5 pm on Thursday near Raheja Park on Magadi Road.
