Bengaluru: Congress MLA's aide grabbed land, claims BJP leader

The market value of these properties measuring over 9044 square feet will cross Rs 30 crores.

Bengaluru: BJP City Spokesperson Mr N.R. Ramesh has alleged that Mr B A Krishnamurthy, one of the close aides of Congress MLA R V Devara, has fabricated fake documents to claim ownership of 3 BBMP properties worth Rs 30 crore, under the V V Puram BBMP ward.

Addressing media persons after releasing documents and photos on the scam, Mr Ramesh said, “Mr B A Krishnamurthy is a nominated member of the BBMP council. By forging documents he has grabbed BBMP lands with numbers 11, 12 and 14 on Roshan Bagh Road (behind NMH Hotel) which come under V V Puram ward (number 143).”

The market value of these 3 properties measuring over 9044 square feet will cross '30 crores. To grab the properties, Mr Krishnamurthy has created a fake ‘will’ document, Mr Ramesh said, adding that apart from grabbing the property, Mr Krishnamurthy has built multi-storeyed commercial complexes on the BBMP land and is earning '36 lakhs by way of rent every year.

Mr Krishnamurthy has approached the City Civil Court to prevent BBMP from acquiring the grabbed land. The court, after going through the property details, refused to stop BBMP from recovering the land in 2011. But till today BBMP officials have not taken any measures to recover the property, Mr Ramesh said and added that this was due to the influence of MLA R V Devaraj.

Further targeting MLA R V Devaraj, Mr N R Ramesh said that the MLA, along with his supporters Mr Dinesh, Mr Gopi, Mr Kiran and Mr Seeku are demanding money from all the construction activity going on in the areas falling under Chickpet assembly constituency. “Lakhs are collected every day in this way. Even to build a house in Chickpet, one has to pay money,” he said.

Pointing out that he has already written letters to chief minister Siddaramaiah, BBMP commissioner Manjunath Prasad and to BMTF, Mr Ramesh demanded that BBMP officials re-acquire the properties in question and recover money with interest collected in the form of rent by Mr Krishnamurthy.
