Hyderabad: Around 777 MCC violation cases filed against political leaders

Hyderabad: Approximately 777 cases pertaining to violation of the model code of conduct (MCC) guidelines have been registered against political leaders and contestants at different places in the state.

Bibipet police registered cases against Kondal Reddy, brother of TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, and others for taking out a Congress rally towards Bibipet circle and conducting street corner meetings at Bibipet bus stand circle without any permission from the authorities.

Medak police registered cases against Congress candidate Mynampally Rohit Rao and others for conducting election campaigns in a place of worship. A video of the party’s election campaign went viral on social media, based on which police registered cases.

Meanwhile, Malkajgiri police registered cases against Mynampally Hanumantha Rao of the Congress party for organising a meeting beyond the stipulated time. Chilkalguda police registered a case against the BRS candidate from Secunderabad T. Padma Rao Goud and others for using DJ sound boxes on the dais at SVS chowrastha in Mylargadda.

Bejjur police registered cases against BSP state chief president and Sirpur candidate R.S. Praveen Kumar for conducting election campaigns beyond the stipulated timing.

Mills Colony police registered cases against Congress candidate Konda Surekha for participating in a Muslim Jamaat without prior permission, where in Muslim leaders MD Naveed Baba and others decided to vote for Surekha in the upcoming elections.
