Why Centre was silent on RTC strike, questions Congress leader

Mr Prabhakar criticised the central government led by the BJP for ‘playing a drama’ in the RTC strike when it is likely coming to an end.

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president and former MP, Ponnam Prabhakar, questioned the central government’s reluctance to intervene in Road Transport Corporation (RTC) strike. Speaking to the media on Friday, Mr Prabhakar criticised the central government led by the BJP for ‘playing a drama’ in the RTC strike when it is likely coming to an end.

The senior Congress leader said that the central government did not respond to the strike for the last 48 days even though it has a 31 per cent share in the corporation.

He said that it is shameful that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao did not respond to the phone calls made by Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari.
He also spoke on the Mid Manair dam.

He said TRS leaders have alleged that the previous Congress government was responsible for the leakages in the Mid Manair dam, and that means that the TRS accepts that the dam was constructed by a Congress government. If a mistake was made in the Congress regime, why doesn’t the TRS government order a probe and take action, he asked.

Mr Prabhakar said he has made a complaint to investigation agencies about corruption in the Mid Manair dam and if the central government orders a probe, he will produce evidence of corruption.
