Marina mall coming soon with pool, hotel, 8 screen multiplex

The Marina Mall covers an area of 5,40,000 sq.ft with additional 4,50,000 sqft of car park and 126 room hotel.

Chennai: The Rs 450 crore Marina mall project on OMR with numerous attractions including a 360-degree view from the main atrium and the atrium having a unique wavy glass façade, will be ready by early 2018.

Designed by Surbana Jurong, an internationally renowned architectural firm based out of Singapore, the mall named after the world renowned Marina beach here, will boast of eight screen multiplex with 1,700 seating capacity, a business class hotel with swimming pool on the fourth floor. The local architectural firm for the project is Cheralathan Associates, a leading architectural firm specialising in malls.

The Marina mall, promoted by Allied Investments and Housing Pvt Ltd, is a mixed destination spread over 1.5 million sq ft on the IT corridor near here and is surrounded by SIPCOT IT park.

“We are also building a residential complex with 100 apartments behind the Marina Mall and it will have a swimming poll on the top. The Allied Investments and Housing & OMR mall developers Pvt Ltd have raised a debt funding of '244 crores from Kotak India Real Estate Fund for the completion of its 5,40,000 sq.ft shopping centre,” says A. Abdul Wadood, managing director, Allied Investment and Housing Pvt. Ltd. The OMRD is a special purpose vehicle promoted by landowner Mukrim Habeeb & Family, Developer M/s.Allied Investments and Housing Pvt. Ltd.

The Marina Mall covers an area of 5,40,000 sq.ft with additional 4,50,000 sqft of car park and 126 room hotel. Developers will share 33% stake and remaining 67% share will be for the landowners. Says H. S. Mohammed Mukrim “this will be the only Grade-A shopping centre in a 25-km radius, housing top national and international brands and fulfilling the social need of the OMR stretch.”

The Marina Mall is a ground + 4 floors shopping centre has been designed to offer a 360-degree view from the main atrium and the atrium itself will have a unique wavy glass façade. It will have about 100 stores. Leases with the key retailers such as Lifestyle, Spar Hypermarket, Inox, Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, Max Fashions, Home Centre, amongst others, have already been signed. The mail itself is a part of a larger mixed-use project being developed on a 6.2 acre land parcel, which includes a boutique hotel and residential apartments
