Khammam: A conductor belonging to the Manuguru depot who is on strike pelted stones on RTC buses, breaking the glass doors of two buses. The depot manager lodged a complaint against the conductor, who was taken into custody by the police.
The temporary drivers in Khammam also extended their support to the RTC workers and employees joint action committee and stayed off work, At one stage, the workers stopped the buses by standing before them. About 20 workers including RTC JAC district convener Srinivasa Reddy were arrested. A second batch of workers then staged a dharna before the depot. At the Sattupalli depot, drivers presented flowers to the temporary drivers and requested their support. Later, they posed a beggars and collecting alms from the shops. In Bhadrachalam, RTC workers walked into the Godavari and staged a jala deeksha.
