Panel to revive river lost to weeds
An all-party meet was convened on Monday to discuss the revival of the water body.
Kochi: The residents of Tripunithura and nearby areas pon Monday formed a 101-member committee to spearhead the revival of Konothupuzha.
“The water flow in the river has come to a near standstill due to accumulation of waste, mud and weeds in the aftermath of the deluge,” said V C Jayen dran, Convenor, TRUR A (Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents' Association).
An all-party meet was convened on Monday to discuss the revival of the water body. Cochin Corporation welfare standing committee chairman A.B. Sabu inaugurated the function. The aim is to revive the water body so as to use it as a drinking source, agricultural purpose, water transport and fishing.
