Bengaluru: Friend, 4 others rob woman, held
Bengaluru: A friend, who turned out to be a robber, and four of her accomplices were arrested on Monday for robbing a woman at her house recently.
The main accused, Ashwini B.G., 24, a resident of KSRTC layout, had befriended the victim, Ranjitha. Recently, Ranjitha was having lunch with her friends at her house, when Ashwinin barged in with her men, threatened them with knives and took away a gold chain and Rs 30,000 cash. After Ranjitha filed a complaint, the Mico Layout police formed a special team and tracked down the accused.
Apart from Ashwini, the other arrested accused are N. Swamy, 23, and Pradeep Kumar, 26, residents of Kamakshipalya, and Gangadhar, 28, a resident of Kaveripura. Of them, Pradeep had several theft cases against him in Kamakshipalya, Mahalakshmi Layout, Rajgopal Nagar, Vijayanagar and Madanayakanahalli police limits since 2012.
The Mico Layout have recovered the stolen chain and Rs 5,000 cash from them.
