Upgrade for tribal hamlets, Rs 50 crore for development: KCR
Warangal: The state government is to bring out a new law to enable tribal hamlets to be upgraded to gram panchayats, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said at a public meeting in Warangal on Sunday.
He said this was a bold decision and its sole aim was to see that each and every village is developed. “The villages are in a very bad state. We hope this new policy will result in the overall development of villages. The Bill will get Cabinet approval and will be introduced in the upcoming Assembly session. The new Acts will provide funds of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh for development of these gram panchayats based on population criteria.”
Mr Rao also showered sops on Parkal. He appreciated local MLA Challa Dharma Reddy for gathering the land required for the Mega Textile Park.
The Chief Minister said Mr Dharma Reddy had been asking him to make Parkal a revenue division for long, and it would be done. Mr Rao said the state government would provide Rs 50 crore for is development.
The Chief Minister asked Mr Dharma Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to work out how the money can be spent.
