Prez office asks AP government to take action on social media posts against ACB judge

Vijayawada: The President of India's office has asked the Andhra Pradesh government to take appropriate action against those who are posting unsavoury remarks on social media platforms against the ACB court judge.

Advocate I. Ramanuja Rao from Penugonda in West Godavari lodged a complaint with the superintendent of police, West Godavari, and the President of India's office through email, alleging that online stalkers are spreading rumours and hate speech against the third additional sessions judge-cum-special judge for SPE and ACB cases, B. Satya Venkata Hima Bindu.

In his complaint, Rao alleged that soon after the judge delivered her verdict in the AP skill development scam case by sending Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu to judicial remand in Central Prison, the stalkers started posting vulgar messages undermining her dignity and character, and also attributing her to a particular political orientation.

In response to the online complaint, the President's Secretariat under secretary P.C. Meena sent a communication to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K.S. Jawahar Reddy to find an appropriate attention to the email petition addressed to the President of India to initiate necessary action and communicate the same to the petitioner directly.
