Thanjavur: Brave woman's bid to enter Guinness record

THANJAVUR: As a prelude to setting Guinness record, which is her ambition, Rajalakshmi (32), wife of Lenin, a resident of Annai Sivakami Nagar at Kumbakonam broke 1,120 tiles even as they were burning by smashing them with her hands at Kumbakonam near Thanjavur on Sunday.

Rajalakshmi sustained injuries on her hand but unmindful of it she continued and broke 1,120 tiles. Rajalakshmi is a karate master. "I wanted to achieve something in my life and prove that women have talents. So I have decided to break 2,010 tiles for Guinness record on March 18, 2020 in this same place. As a prelude to that event I demonstrated my talent by breaking 1,120 tiles" she said.

 

Thiru. Anbalagan, Kumbakonam MLA and Ramesh and Nadaraj, Guinness record trainers, Chandraprabhu, local businessman, were among those present on the occasion. A large number of people had gathered in the town to witness the event.
