Telangana BJP eyes Singareni employees for votes

BJP state high command has directed its local cadre in Singareni Collieries to take a note of issues faced by the mine workers.

Hyderabad: The BJP has its eyes on almost 50,000 employees of Singareni Collieries , where presently mining is spread across 12 Assembly consti-tuencies and six districts of Telangana, Komaram Bhe-em, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam Districts.

BJP state high command has directed its local cadre in Singareni Collieries to take a note of issues faced by the mine workers and asked them to list the unfulfilled promises made by CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao before coming into power.

BJP national executive member and MLC Ramcha-nder Rao said, “Many promises were made by the TRS chief Mr Rao and his leaders to the Singareni mine workers but were never fulfilled. There is discontentment amongst the Singa-reni coal workers with the TRS and the state government as many promises were made to them but neither KCR nor his ministers ever bothered to fulfil them. KCR has failed to look after the mine workers who keep their lives at stake and work very hard. The government has totally deprived them of even primary healthcare, home loans etc.”

Mr Rao further added that the BJP will soon start a door-to-door campaign in the Singareni collieries under which the senior leaders will point out KCR’s failures and assure the mineworkers of the BJP's support to them.
