K Chandrasekhar Rao seeks Rajnath Singh's help in High Court division

K Chandrasekhar Rao requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take steps to speed up its bifurcation.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who is in New Delhi at present, met Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday and urged him to resolve all bifurcation-related issues pending between TS and AP at the earliest. Mr Rao also met Union labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya and sought his help in speedy disbursal of Central funds to TS.

The Chief Minister took up the issue of delay in bifurcation of High Court with Mr Singh and requested him to take steps to speed up its bifurcation besides resolution of disputes over sharing of assets and liabilities of common institutions listed under Schedule IX and X of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

He thanked the Centre for sanctioning Rs 1,290 crore to lay National Highway along Godavari and Pranhitha rivers in Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts.

The CM urged Mr Singh to take the initiative of getting the approval of the Cabinet committee on economic affairs for the project so that the construction work could begin at the earliest. He also submitted proposals on laying additional roads in rural areas under the Centre’s Rural Road Development Plan.

The CM also sought Rs 300 crore assistance to lay the highway to Kaleshwaram Addagutta, a 1-km long bridge over Godavari near Kaleshwaram, Racharla-Vemanapally road, Somini-Gudem road, Gudem-Balasagar road.

Mr Rao said these places are located in remote forest areas and need roads for development.
