Chennai: Seven students create ruckus on MTC bus

Students of Pachaiyappa’s college were again warned by police for singing and creating chaos on an MTC bus.

Chennai: Seven students were given a stern warning by the city police after they were found creating chaos on an MTC bus at Kilpauk. According to sources, the incident took place on Wednesday morning and the students were on MTC bus route number 47 plying between ICF and Besant Nagar. Sources said the students were singing loudly and creating chaos on the bus.

When the commuters in the bus alerted the police, Deputy Commissioner Manohar sent a team of police who stopped the bus at Kilpauk. Police said that the students belonged to Pachaiyappa’s college, Last month, a gang of students of the Pachaiyappa’s college were filmed chasing and attacking a rival gang on the busy Poonamallee high road in Arumbakkam in full public view. Two students were injured in the attack.

After the attack, the police personnel and the college authorities cracked the whip on the unruly bunch. The city police came up with an elaborate action plan and announced stringent actions will be taken on the law-breakers who involve in rowdyism in the city.

They have also opened surety bond on 60 route thala students from Pachaiyappa’s college.

However, within a month, a few students from the same institution were found creating ruckus on the bus.

Police said they were made to write a letter stating they would not indulge in such activities again. They were let off later.
