Hyderabad: There are no streetlights and no CCTV cameras installed in the quarters, complained the residents, adding that they had approached the concerned authorities several times but in vain.
“If there were cameras present, we would actually know what exactly happened,” said a resident. Another alleged that the streetlights worked on and off while the ones that were working were damaged by unknown miscreants.
S. Rakesh, a resident of Chilkalguda Railway Quarters said that the place never had any safety measures, be it in the form of CCTV cameras or proper streetlights.
“The streetlights do not work and we have approached the officials asking they install CC cameras in the entrance, exits and other vantage points here but so far, we haven’t got any response.”
He added that now at least authorities should look into installing CCTV cameras.
