Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Sunday sought to intensify his attack against the YSR Congress government by posing more questions about the Volunteers system and on the Byju's educational content for students in AP.
Taking to Twitter, Pawan asked, “Who is the boss of these Volunteers?” This, after he had alleged that the data collected by volunteers from families was being widely misused.
Pawan said, “Everyone’s concern is the same, My Dear Watson! Data privacy laws will remain the same, whether you (Jagan) are the CM or not. So answer three basic questions.”
“1. Who’s the Boss of Volunteers? 2. Where are you storing the personal data of the People? 3) Who has authorised the volunteers to collect personal data, as these youths are not government employees?”
In a separate post, Pawan wrote, “Points to note: 1. The govt spends around Rs 580 crore on Byju's content that was loaded on tablets. Each tablet is valued at Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000 in the open market. 2. Byju's CEO Ravindran has agreed to load the content free to the 8th Class students as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). 3. Next year, again, will the government buy five lakh tablets at a cost of Rs 580 crore?”
Pawan further posted, “Questionable points: 1. Who will pay for Byju's content from next year? Does the company give them free every year? There is a lack of clarity in this matter. The government says that every year Byjus gives content-loaded tablets to Class VIII students for free. But Byju's nowhere said they would give free content every year from now. 2. Who will bear the cost if the company does not bear the cost of content – the AP government or the students? If the government bears it, then another Rs 750 crore will have to be spent on Byju's content (15k per student x 5 lakh students = 750 crore).”
Pawan asked, “3. What is the condition of the students when they come from Class 8 to class 9? Who will bear the cost of 9th Class content? 4. In which medium and which syllabus does Byjus provide the content? Based on which system are they designing the syllabus -- CBSE/State Syllabus or international courses offered?”
Pawan posted the answer to the last question, “Answer: The organisation claims that the content is based on the CBSE syllabus.”
Responding to the questions of Pawan, his supporters flooded Twitter with their posts in support of their leaders.
