Uttam Kumar Reddy attends meeting of PCC presidents

Sources said that 12 states had been identified where the Congress remains strong and would a bag majority of the seats.

Hyderabad: TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday attend the meeting of PCC presidents of all states convened by AICC president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi ahead of the 2019 elections.

Sources said that 12 states had been identified where the Congress remains strong and would a bag majority of the seats. Telangana state is among them.

Mr Gandhi asked PCC leaders to take up extensive programmes against the BJP and non-Congress governments in the run-up to the polls. He said the Congress was trying to strike alliances with like-minded parties but asked the PCC presidents to work to strengthen the party on their own.

“Don’t make any statements on Congress aligning with a party which will create unnecessary confusion,” the PCC presidents were told. Sources said a majority of PCC leaders requested Mr Gandhi to announce candidates five-six months in advance.
