Hyderabad: VIPs to be given shorter time Bonalu processions this year
Hyderabad: As the large number of VIPs caused the public to wait in overcrowded conditions during the Bonalu processions last year, the city police said that this year they will be allotting a shorter time for the VIPs and strict protocol will be maintained, keeping public safety in mind.
A coordination meeting was held at which the temple managements told officials of the GHMC, R&B, and electricity department, among others, the problems they experienced last year. They were assured of more assistance and support this year.
“The public is important and we will make sure that they have a smooth and safe time while in the procession and during offering prayers. We will be giving short breaks for the crowd and will also make proper arrangements for a faster disposal of the crowd,” said DCP South, V. Satyanarayana.
The South Zone police held an inter-departmental coordination meeting with officials of GHMC, waterworks, TRANSCO, fire services, roads and buildings department, medical and health department and others.
