Thiruvananthapuram: Powerbroker Satish Nair who has been embroiled in the medical college scam has become a ‘celebrity’ overnight. He is the brother of Swami Ayyappadas, who is attached to Sabarimala Ayyappa Dharma Samajam. Swami Ayyappadas is also the state president of Kshetra Vimochana Samara Samithi, a feeder organisation of the RSS.
Thodupuzha native Satish Nair allegedly had connections with the UPA, as he is seen with former prime minister Manmohan Singh in a photo flashed by TV channels. Satish Nair has been acting as PRO to Mr Kummanam Rajasekharan, state president, in New Delhi, it is said.
An unsuspecting Kummanam had unofficially appointed him as the liaison officer whenever he was in the national capital. “That association has boomeranged. At the party meeting on Saturday, Kummanam denied the role of Satish Nair as a liaison officer and said that he was close to the Congress camp especially with a former Congress minister from Kashmir,” said a BJP leader. It is also alleged that it was due to Swami Ayyappadas that Satish Nair was seen in the BJP camp too at the centre.
