Rs 15 lakh Mitsubishi aid to Andhra University's Japan centre

University would encourage Japanese Language and its culture in the University campus.

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University, vice chancellor, Prof. G Nageswara Rao, said that the University would encourage Japanese Language and its culture in the University campus following the state government’s policy of encouraging Japanese language and its culture. Prof. Nageswara Rao expressed his happiness over Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan’s initiative to support Japan Information and Study Centre in the Campus.

Earlier, Japan Information and Study Centre, director Prof. D.V.R. Murthy, met the Vice-Chancellor and handed over the letter of sanction of Rs 15 lakh by the Mitsubishi Corporation, Tokyo, to Japan Information Study Centre of Andhra University for the year 2016, here on Friday.

Last year, the Mitsubishi Corporation sanctioned Rs 27 lakh for the establishment of the Japanese Information Study Centre in AU. Prof. Murthy said that admissions into Diploma in Japanese Language were in progress and counselling would be done on August 2, at the Directorate of Admissions Office, Pedawaltair, Visakhapatnam.
