Narendra Modi to unveil new CA syllabus in November
Visakhapatnam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the new syllabus for the chartered accountants’ course in November, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) president M. Devaraja Reddy told the AP state-level Chartered Accountants Conference at Gitam University here on Friday. The reform in the syllabus had been carried out to bring in improvements and also to ensure that it met international standards, he said.
The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) pattern for admission into Chartered Accountants would carry 200 marks for subjective questions in addition to objective questions of 200 marks. “This will help us scan candidates properly and give scope only to the serious ones,” he said. He further added that the ICAI was carrying out a campaign and awareness programmes to discourage students from falling prey to false promises being made by private coaching centres for getting them qualified without regular training on various articles under senior Chartered Accountants. “We are also holding various awareness programmes to help the industries and public understand the new taxation system being introduced," he said.
