MPs protest, demand set up of separate High Courts in Telangana and AP immediately
Hyderabad: Ruling TRS and Congress MPs on Friday demanded the Centre set up separate High Courts in TS and AP immediately.
About a dozen MPs participated in the dharna organised by Telangana Law Students’ High Court Sadhana Samiti at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Friday.
In a related development, Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy wrote to Union law minister Ravi Shanker Prasad seeking immediate bifurcation of the High Court. In his letter, the MP said that any further delay in the matter would lead to ‘catastrophic’ results.
“Though two years have elapsed after formation of the new states, though every aspect in answer to the division has been answered, but the High Court has not been divided,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, law students have decided to call on Mr Prasad on Saturday and submit a memorandum on the issue.
