G Sudhakaran granted bail

The court is expected to hear the case on June 28.

ALAPPUZHA: The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Amabalappuzha, has granted bail to works minister G. Sudhakaran in a case of misbehaving with a woman personal staff.

The court is expected to hear the case on June 28.

Usha Sali, 56, also a former Kottaravalavu South branch secretary of the CPM, filed the complaint in February and the court asked the minister to appear on March 29. In her complaint registered with Ambalappuzha police earlier, she had alleged he insulted her at a public function with the "impunity of political patronage."

Police filed an affidavit in the court saying that the case would not stand since her allegation was baseless. But she went on challenging the police first information report, and the court summoned the minister.

The incident occurred during the inauguration of a newly constructed road at Thottapally in February 2016. Pained by his misconduct, she resigned.
Following this, CPM cancelled her primary membership.

The enmity between began after she questioned seat sharing in the last civic elections and she and her family abstained from the campaign, leaving Mr Sudhakaran furious.
