Arrest of aide will lead to MLA: COT Naseer

A native of Kathiroor, Rajesh is also an employee of Thalassery Town Service Cooperative Bank.

KANNUR: With the arrest of N.K. Rajesh, a close aide of A.N. Shamseer, C.O.T. Naseer, the CPM rebel candidate in the recent parliamentary elections, believes the investigation into the attack on him would lead to the legislator.

"He might have masterminded the attack on me," said the young leader who had escaped an attempt on his life by a group of CPM assailants narrowly.
Mr Naseer has been alleging that without the knowledge of Mr Sham-seer, such an attack could not have taken place. Rajesh, the Pulliad West branch secretary, was his driver.

"Everybody in Thalassery knows who is Mr Raj-esh and his intimate relationship with Mr Shamseer. Between Mr Rajesh and me, there are no issues,” he said.
"If the investigation fai-ls to reach Mr Shamseer, he would approach the court for justice."

"Rajesh is a former Thalassery area secretary of CPM who is a regular presence with Mr Shamseer. I have hope in the investigation as it expo-sed the role of Rajesh and subsequently, it would reach Mr Shamseer," he added.

He says he had travelled to Gulf countries with the brother of Mr Shamseer on business trips.

A native of Kathiroor, Rajesh is also an employee of Thalassery Town Se-rvice Cooperative Bank.

Mr Naseer, a former CPM leader from Thala-ssery who had contested in the Vadakara constituency against Kannur strongman P. Jayarajan, was hacked down in Thalassery town on May 18 night. The CPM leadership had denied any role in the attack.
