Kochi: A division bench of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday posted the hearing on a petition filed by actor Dileep seeking a CBI probe in the abduction and sexual assault of a woman actor case after July 3. The bench posted the case after July 3 as the Supreme Court is scheduled to consider a petition in connection with the case. A single bench of the HC had earlier rejected the demand for a CBI probe by Dileep.
The actor has approached the division bench against the single bench order. Counsel for Dileep pointed out that the SC had stayed the proceedings in the trial court. He had also told the court that the police investigation is unsatisfactory and the entire media is against him.
The court has than observed that media attention is natural in the case of a celebrity.
