Hyderabad: To overcome the looming water crisis, the union water resources department has recommended long term, medium term and short term measures for effective water conservation.
To enhance sustainable water availability in time and space pan-India, rain water must be conserved through various supply side interventions by appropriately enhancing surface storage as well as artificial recharge of ground water.
Experts say that the number of water bodies and traditional water harvesting structures must be increased.
Currently they are poorly maintained and have become inefficient and even defunct.
