HD Kumaraswamy to rely on old faithfuls
Bengaluru: Chief Minister designate , H D Kumaraswamy and JD(S) supremo , H D Deve Gowda are reportedly going with the tried and tested and plan to appoint three officers, who were part of his administration during his first tenure as Chief Minister to key posts this time .
The three officers , the present DGP (Fire Force) , H C Krishore Chandra, BDA Commissioner, Rakesh Singh and Additional Chief Secretary, D V Prasad were relatively junior officers 13 years ago. But they reportedly won the confidence of Mr Deve Gowda, who closely monitored the administration at the time. Besides, the three reportedly managed to strike a perfect balance between father and son in matters of administration.
Going by sources, while the two IAS officers could be around Chief Minister's office looking after the administration, Mr Kishore Chandra may be made DGP Intelligence. Soon after state BJP chief, B S Yeddyurappa resigned as Chief Minister before seeking a vote of confidence in the assembly last week, Mr Kishore Chandra called on Mr Kumaraswamy at his residence and was followed y Mr Rakesh Singh and Mr D V Prasad the next morning, according to sources. Mr Kumaraswamy is expected to appoint former bureaucrat S. Subrahmanya as ex-officio adviser.
After taking voluntary retirement from the IAS, Mr Subrahmanya joined the JD(S) and has been silently working to formulate party policies. He may now be included in the CM’s team of advisers, say sources.
