Beer prices go up by Rs 10 in Telangana
Hyderabad: The state government on Tuesday increased beer prices in the state by Rs 10 per bottle, citing revision of basic prices and rounding off of MRP. The new rates will come into force with immediate effect. To this effect state government has issued orders on Tuesday. The state government has also instructed the TS Beverages Corporation to make arrangements to store stocks of various beer brands on or after 22nd May 2018 in separate lots and not to mix them up with existing lots.
The stock of a particular brand with new MRP rates shall be delivered only after exhausting the stock of that particular brand with old MRPs. The Principle Secretary of Revenue (Excise & Commercial Taxes) Somesh Kumar said with the new rates will result in '25 crore additional revenue per excise year for the state government and '10 crore for beer manufacturers.
