Pre-monsoon rains continue to lash Bengaluru

The Indian Meteorological Department predicted rains over the next few days towards night.

BENGALURU: After heavy spells of rain over the last one week, pre-monsoon rains continued to lash the city on Monday.

As the rain was towards night, not many traffic snarls were reported. Trees and branches fell in Vijayanagar, Sadashivanagar, Rajajinagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Palace Guttahalli and Malleswaram. No casualties were reported. Power supply was disrupted in Malleswaram, Rajajinagar and R.R. Nagar. Roads were flooded in Bommanahalli, Silk Board Junction, Madiwala and Ejipura.

According to India's private weather forecaster Skymet, the changes in weather conditions were due to the presence of a trough passing in close proximity of the city for the past few days. The Indian Meteorological Department predicted rains over the next few days towards night.
