BENGALURU: The court on Monday extended the police custody of former corporator and rowdy V. Nagaraj and his two sons – Gandhi and Shastri – for three more days.
As the custody of the three ended on Monday, the police produced them before the 11th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the evening. As the police requested the court that they needed some more days to extract information from the accused and recover property, the court extended the police custody till Thursday.
While coming out of the court, Nagaraj was in tears, apparently upset over his present condition.
Meanwhile, Nagaraj’s wife Lakshmi, who was summoned by the Hennur police to appear before them, was questioned on Monday. “She was summoned for interrogation to know about her involvement in the case. But she claimed that she had a cordial relationship with her husband but had no idea about his financial or business dealings. However, investigations are on to gather evidence against those involved in the extortion cases,” an official said.
