Asha Jhajhria: First woman in Rajasthan to scale Mount Everest

Apart from the sternous physical exercise in preparation of the climb, she also had to make Rs 28 lakh.

Jaipur: On Monday morning, Rajasthan’s Asha Jhajhria became the first woman in the state to scale the Mount Everest. Asha is a nurse in the state medical and health department.

Apart from the sternous physical exercise in preparation of the climb, she also had to make Rs 28 lakh. Her brother Vikram Singh said that she got permission for the expedition only after depositing the money.

Asha had approached public representatives to seek their help for getting government funds for her campaign but finally she had to dip into her PF account but that was not enough. However, she got support from her parents, friends and relatives. Her husband is assistant SI in Haryana police. She has a daughter who is 15-year-old and son is eight -year-old. The 38-year old Asha reached the highest peak at 4 am on Monday morning.
