Nellore Mayor Abdul Azeez vows rehabilitation
Nellore: Mayor Abdul Azeez toured Rail Veedi and Barmashalgunta and other areas in the 52nd division and interacted with the people who stay near the railway track on Sunday. The locals told the mayor that the railway officials had issued notices that they would be evicted by May 28. They appealed to the mayor for help.
Mr Azeez spoke to the collector and wrote to the railway officials not to evict the people living near the tracks. He assured them that no one would be forced to vacate their houses until they were rehabilitated.
He said they had acquired over 65 acres of land at an ash pond in Janardhan Reddy Colony and houses would be constructed there. The first preference would be given to these displaced persons. Later, he participated in a medical camp organised at MVS Kalyanamandapam under the aegis of 28th ward corporator Mekala Rajani.
The mayor said the medical camp was organised under the leadership of Vijaya Care. He said that 62 kinds of tests would be held free of cost with the help of the government and appealed to the people to utilise the free services. TD rural in-charge Adala Prabhakar Reddy said that the government was committed to the welfare of the people. The Telugu Desam is the people’s party.
Besides, Mr Azeez, Ms Tallapaka Anuradha, Mr Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, Mr Kilari Venkataswamy Naidu, Mr Anam Jayakumar Reddy, standing committee members Dasari Rajesh, Raja Naidu, Sheik Waheeda, corporators Mekala Rammurthy, Venkateswarlu Yadav, Pitti Satya Nageswara Rao, leaders Harish-babu, Suri, Shamsuddin, Yesu Naidu, Sudhir, Musharaff, Qader Basha and other participated in the programme.
