Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka ask KCR to fire education minister

They alleged that Mr Jagadish Reddy was responsible for the confusion in the marks.

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and demanded the removal of education minister G. Jagadish Reddy following the suicide of students after the errors in the Intermediate exam results.

They alleged that Mr Jagadish Reddy was responsible for the confusion in the marks. They demanded the suspension of officials for the mess and a full-fledged inquiry into the issue.

Referring to the controversies surrounding the results, the Congress leaders asked: “Is this the way a government should react to an issue which involves 10 lakh students.”

They alleged that Mr Rao never took up public issues. He was only encouraging political corruption, they claimed. Mr Rao “always thinks about how to purchase MLAs and MLCs and has never bothered about the problems of the public,” they said.

Former minister and senior Congress leader Komatireddy Venkata Reddy speaking to the media at Nalgonda on Monday demanded the resignation of Mr Jagadish Reddy from the Cabinet owning the responsibility for the goof-up. He alleged that the government was incapable in conducting the examinations properly.

TPCC working president A. Revanth Reddy and AICC secretary Sampath Kumar staged a dharna in front of the Intermediate Board head office in Hyderabad demanding justice to the students. Police arrested the leaders briefly.
