Rising temperature hits people in Nizamabad district

The district administration has started campaign over preventive measures against sun stroke.

Nizamabad: Increasing temperature has been creating trouble for the people in composite Nizamabad district. Highest temperature of 420 Celsius was registered so far in the district. People hesitated to come out from homes between 11 am to 5 pm.

Curfew like situation prevailed on busiest Hyderabad Road, Gandhi Chowk, Nehru Park, Gandhi Gunj, Kumargally, Rashtrapati Road, Bus Stand and Railway station roads in the town.

To protect themselves from scorching heat, people have been using caps, umbrellas and white napkins. Motorbikers are moving on the roads after covering their faces with clothes. Despite urgent works, people remained in homes during the day time.

As a result, commercial centres and other shops have been making brisk business after 6 pm. Crowd was witnessed after 6 pm on main roads. Parents did not dare to take children out side due to heat conditions. To quench their thirst, people rushed to cool drink shops, ice cream parlours, juice centres and drinking water camps.

Interestingly, few youths have been showing interest to watch movies in air conditioned theatres during the hot weather.

Speaking to this correspondent, V. Shyam Sunder Reddy, a state government employee said that his children attended summer camps in evening hours.
